Today, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating the men and women whose hands, wisdom and sacrifice continue to shape the future of our nation.
To every teacher in Osun State and Nigeria, I say thank you.
From the toddler taking those first steps in learning, to the kindergarten and primary school child, the secondary school student and the young adult in higher institutions, teachers stand at every stage of our children’s journey, nurturing their minds, shaping their character and preparing them for life.
You are not merely teaching subjects you are building lives and shaping a nation.
My appreciation for teachers is deeply personal. During my time with the Osun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), I had the privilege of working closely with many teachers across our state. I witnessed their commitment, dedication and selfless service, often in challenging circumstances.
I saw men and women who continued to give their best because they understood that every child represents the future of our communities and our nation.
For your patience, sacrifices and unwavering commitment to our children, I salute you.
On this special day, my prayer is that Almighty God will reward you abundantly for your labour. May you live long in good health and prosperity to witness and enjoy the fruits of the seeds you have planted in the lives of generations.
May the children you have nurtured become sources of pride and joy to you, and may your contributions to nation-building never be forgotten.
When we strengthen our teachers, we strengthen our children, and when we strengthen our children, we strengthen the Nation.
Once again, I celebrate and appreciate every teacher in Osun State and across Nigeria.
Happy Teachers’ Day!
May your labour continue to speak for you, today and for generations to come.
